AliMed Introduces New Bed Safety Rail With Versatile and Durable Handle

AliMed today announced a new product that can improve bed safety for healthcare at nursing facilities and in the home.
AliMed Senior VP Jon Bretz said, “The inherent problems with beds are twofold. First of all, people roll out and fall from them, and some people have difficulty getting in and out of them. Side rails you see on many facility beds are clumsy and limit unassisted egress in an emergency; while they may solve the roll-out-of-bed problem, they don’t help getting into and out of bed. Bed handles help solve the problem of getting into and out of bed, but add little to the roll-out-of-bed problem. Our new AliRail addresses both problems.”
The AliRail Bed Rail (item #712120) is a simple-to-assemble, strong, steel, and ergonomically shaped bed handle that is wide enough to enable getting into and out of bed, but also helps prevent most roll-out-of-bed events. It attaches to the box frame of a standard bed with strong straps and extender bars under the mattress, and is rated to 400-lb. capacity. The cushioned handle protects against accidental bumps and the spacing meets non-entrapment requirements. It can also be easily disassembled for storage between use.
Jon Bretz added, “Working with customer feedback, our research and development engineers, and our ergonomic specialists has led us to this advanced design. This handle is designed for home use or for nursing homes.”
