AliMed® Basic Wedge Wheelchair Cushion with Convex Base has all the benefits of a basic wedge cushion with a convex base that fills sling-seat sag, creating a flat sitting surface that minimizes harmful sacral sitting and won't tip, fold, or buckle. Soft, supple foam for comfort with sculpted base, gentle slope, and scooped coccyx cutout for added skin protection and pressure relief at the base of the spine, providing all-day comfort that won't bottom out. Available in 16"W or 18"W and two removable cover options: washable, breathable Polyknit cover or durable, wipe-clean Nonslip Vinyl cover with waterfall zippers for incontinence protection while limiting forward sliding.

About Wedge Cushions: Wedge cushions help prevent wheelchair users from sliding forward in their chair (sacral sitting) by positioning the pelvis in an anterior tilt with the knees slightly higher than the hips. This improves sitting posture and decreases pressure on the sacrum and coccyx, encouraging improved breathing, better head control, and better positioning for self-feeding.
