Gel reduces shear by moving with the skin, not against it. Heat and humidity are controlled by the material’s ability to evenly radiate heat throughout the product. This reduces the risk of potentially dangerous “hot spot” development, while providing a uniform temperature environ­ment for the patient. The exposed layer of 3/8"H polymer gel is heat-sealed over a high-density 2"H Polyfoam pad, providing constant support beneath patients without bottoming out.
