Compare — AliLite™ weighs less.
AliLite splints weigh as little as one-fourth the weight of conventional thermoplastic splints.
Resting splint — the shape you’ve trusted and the comfort that just isn’t possible with hard plastics. Until now, therapists had only one choice. Functional position splints were made from rigid materials — making splints hard, sticky, and uncomfortable.
AliLite Splints are the only prefitted splints made of featherweight AliLite. They weigh just 3 oz.—straps and all. Compare that to an average 12-oz. conventional thermoplastic splint. Also, customization is easy — all you need is a heat gun and 30 seconds to make any correction.
Use these splints instead of the hard splints you are using now. If you’re not completely satisfied, we will refund your money.
Principal use/application: This type of static splint is used to maintain the hand in a functional position during recovery from paralysis. Functional position splints are available in many different materials, ranging from high temperature plastic to moldable foam and remoldable low-temperature thermoplastics.
Primary diagnostic groups include patients in early stages of recovery from stroke or head injury, where recovery of voluntary extension of fingers and wrist is anticipated. Also used in long-term management of the paralyzed hand. For this type of application, adaptation of the prefitted position (using hot water or a heat gun) may be necessary.
Contraindications: These splints are not appropriate for patients with significant spasticity affecting wrist and fingers.
