AliMed^® Semirigid Pommel Stroke Wheelchair Cushion with Solid Seat Insert^™

AliMed® Semirigid Pommel Stroke Wheelchair Cushion with Solid Seat Insert™ (SSI) assists with hip abduction and is ideal for stroke patients experiencing a slight increase in hip adductor tone. Pommel keeps hips apart, improving alignment and minimizing tendency to slide forward. The convex-bottom, closed-cell foam solid seat base fills a wheelchair's sagging sling seat, creating a stable, flat sitting surface that promotes an upright sitting posture without raising the seat height. Low-profile cushion allows the user's legs to reach the floor to self-propel the wheelchair. T-Gel™ insert at the rear of the SSI offers coccyx protection and reduces skin shear for a gradual pressure transition between the firmness of the SSI and the soft, pressure-relieving gel. Front waterfall edge reduces pressure at distal edges of thighs. Available in two widths: 16" and 18".
