The Rockstick Computer Mouse Now Available in the US Exclusively Through AliMed®

Innovative Alternative Avoids ‘Finger Click’ Pain Associated with Conventional Mouse

AliMed® is now the exclusive US distributor of the Rockstick Mouse, a new easy-to-use computer mouse designed to avoid the unnatural and often awkward finger clicks of the traditional mouse. With the Rockstick Mouse, computer users can click with their entire hand instead of their finger. This allows users to avoid the often painful problems associated with repetitive finger overuse including inflammation and swelling of the wrist tendons, which can lead to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

The Rockstick Mouse is a unique, upright-style mouse with a handle and an integrated palm support that allows the user’s hand to remain in a handshake position. Having the user’s wrist and hand in this position eliminates forearm twisting, and minimizes pressure in the carpal tunnel area of the wrist.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome affects an estimated 3-5% of the population and is caused by the compression of a key nerve in the wrist. It typically causes a tingling, weakness, pain, or numbness in the hand and wrist, radiating up the arm. As symptoms worsen, someone might feel the tingling throughout the day, as well as decreased grip strength making it difficult to form a fist, grasp small objects, or perform other simple tasks. The Rockstick Mouse can help make a huge difference in someone’s ability to work and even do something as basic as check email.

“I adjusted to the Rockstick Mouse pretty quickly and was grateful for an alternative to my speech recognition software,” said Doug Dautel, a graphic designer with SITUS Retail Group. “Using the Rockstick Mouse pretty much eliminated my wrist pain, which would occur whenever I made a finger click with a traditional mouse.”

Getting used to the upright positioning of the Rockstick Mouse varies for each person but typically only takes a week or two, according to those who have used it. If necessary, the user can hold the Rockstick Mouse base as they would a traditional mouse to do precise positioning.

The Rockstick Mouse is currently available in two sizes and is compatible with most PC and Mac systems. The user simply plugs it into the computer like a traditional mouse and it’s ready to use. The Rockstick Mouse also comes with one customized wrist supporter at no extra cost for added comfort.
