AliMed Releases New Bariatric Gait Belt

AliMed’s new Bariatric Gait Belt is larger and stronger than standard gait belts and is designed specifically for the increasing bariatric population — not just a larger version of the standard belt. Unlike regular models (which are tested to 225 lbs only), the weight capacity of the Bariatric Gait Belt is 1,000 lbs (with the test strain on the buckle exceeding 1,200 lbs)!

Said AliMed Senior VP of Sales and Marketing Jon Bretz, “This is a gait belt for the larger patient that a clinician can use with a degree of confidence that would not be possible with a standard belt. The 96” belt is made from resilient, high-test plastic that easily accommodates any bariatric patient. Unlike standard cotton gait belts it is easily cleaned and sanitized — just wipe clean with facility cleaners and sanitizers.”

The new bariatric gait belt is fully adjustable, is available in yellow plastic, and is fully sealed. The buckle is a press-button release aircraft-rated buckle. It can be ordered direct from AliMed at 800-225-2610 or online at Quote bariatric gait belt # 711779 at $33.
