These compensating filters even out the density of a film that would otherwise be highly over- or under-penetrated. Boomerang Filter attenuates the excess radiation that obliterates the humeral head on AP shoulder radiographs. 92 0312 has embedded metal chain along the outer periphery to indicate the presence and position of the filter on the film. Additional uses include lateral knee/patella, AP cervical, including upper thorax, nasion and chin (soft tissue) and oblique mandible.
