For the patient with chronic arthritis affecting the thumb, the Low Profile ThumbKeeper™ supports an unstable MP joint. With this splint, the thumb can be used as a stable post in grasp. Daily activities can continue uninterrupted. This is exactly the same shell as the standard ThumbKeeper™,. , An overlap-type palm closure replaces the D-ring closure. Those with arthritic hand involvement may find it difficult to manage the D-ring strap. Overlap palmar strap closure is easier to manipulate.
