Infection control measures that reduce cross contamination to avoid a Never Events bad outcome from AliMed fall into 3 main categories. Highly persistent hand sanitizers that last for hours on clinician’s hands; surface treatments that sanitize surfaces for extended periods and antimicrobial products that kill harmful pathogens. Most conventional sanitizers for hand or surface are alcohol-based and as soon as the alcohol dissipates the sanitizing efficacy dissipates. New persistent sanitizers for hands and surfaces ensure continued killing for hours; reducing the opportunity for re-contamination. Antimicrobial treatment on multiple person; high use / traffic items such as doors; tables; curtains; bed products; etc.; ensures that pathogens cannot live and grow on these items; reducing cross contamination.
