AliMed® Seidel Knee Extension System places continuous, prescribed pressure to maintain full extension following total knee arthroplasty and throughout the recovery process. The System consists of two parts that work together: the Seidel Slice maintains the foot and knee in the sagittal plane, the Seidel Saddlebag provides prescribed downward force on the knee.
Patients are not confined. They can sit anywhere!
Seidel Slice comfortably supports, positions and elevates the foot and keeps the foot and knee within the sagittal plane, reducing any chance of post-op flexion contracture. The high-density polyfoam Slice can be used to elevate the leg or foot in cases of edema or diabetes, and it helps protect the foot from bed cover pressure. Slice is 18"H x 12"W x 10"D.
Siedel Saddelbag is placed directly over the knee. Two large pockets hold weights to control knee extension. Weights don't make contact with the patient - the knee is cushioned and protected by a soft pad sewn into the Saddlebag. The Saddlebag accepts traditional sandbags as well as other objects, like books or cans, for home use. Weight amount is prescribed by the physician, reducing chance of error. Durable, washable nylon. Saddlebag 12"W x 30"L pockets 9"H x 11"W.
