Accusorb MRI material works by physically restricting the scanner's field of view (via radio frequency absorption and isolation), keeping unwanted areas outside the established field from wrapping into the image. Accusorb MRI products virtually eliminate "image wraparound", "ghosting", and unwanted artifacts, limiting the need to use the anti-aliasing system software option. Patient throughput is improved, and patient manipulation, software adjustment, and scan analysis time are minimized, with resultant cost savings. Patients remain comfortable throughout the scan. Accusorb MRI uses advanced flexible RF absorbers and thermal barriers to help prevent blanket heating. Accusorb MRI products are available in standard sizes and shapes designed to cover specific body areas. They can be custom made to virtually any shape for use in new applications.
Safety note: This material is not intended for use on patients with metallic, electronic, magnetic, or mechanical implants, devices, or objects. This material blocks RF. It does not block electromagnetic energy. This material will not protect or shield an implant, device, or product during a scan. This material is to be used only to shield parts of the anatomy of patients who do not have implants. If a patient is not safe in the MRI scanner without this material, the patient will not be safe in the MRI with this material.
