Hands, feet, shoulders and knees are not uniform in body thickness and density, making them hard to X-ray in a single radiograph. These compensating filters even out the density of a film that would otherwise be highly over- or under-penetrated. You get increased detail for more accurate diagnoses with fewer exposures to radiation. Lightweight and easy to handle. Unbreakable silicone rubber. Adhere vertically with very little pressure. Waterproof. Autoclavable. Resist alcohol, acetone and heat. Filters can be disinfected with alcohol or Zephiran. Instructions detailing various applications are included.

Boomerang Filter attenuates the excess radiation that obliterates the humeral head on AP shoulder radiographs. 92 0312 has embedded metal chain along the outer periphery to indicate the presence and position of the filter on the film. Additional uses include lateral knee/patella, AP cervical, including upper thorax, nasion and chin (soft tissue) and oblique mandible.

Gentle Slope Filter for hands, wrists and feet. For AP views, filter only the fingers. Use over the lower third of the humerus or femur, and sometimes, over the thorax.
